Jazz Through the Decades – The Ed Love Quintet Featuring Jackie Allen
March 28 | 6 PM Dinner | 7 PM Show

Step into a night where time bends, horns glow, and every decade gets its moment in the spotlight.

Nebraska’s own Ed Love leads this journey through the golden eras of jazz. A cornerstone of the state’s jazz scene, Love is known for his dynamic, deeply musical drumming and his role as a bandleader who builds ensembles that swing hard and listen closely. His quintet moves with the elegance of a 1950s supper club and the spark of modern jazz, threading tradition and innovation into one seamless set.

Front and center is Jackie Allen, Nebraska’s premiere jazz vocalist. A critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and educator, Allen has recorded with labels including Blue Note Records and Avant Bass, and performs internationally alongside her husband, bassist Hans Sturm. Her voice carries both velvet and voltage, gliding from smoky ballads to playful swing with effortless storytelling. When she sings, lyrics do not just land, they linger.

From the standards that shaped the Great American Songbook to contemporary jazz gems, Jazz Through the Decades is an evening of rich melodies, masterful improvisation, and the kind of chemistry that only seasoned artists can spark.
